Maribor, like Slovenia itself, may be small in size but offers many delightful experiences. Whilst being the second biggest city in Slovenia, it is also home to the worlds oldest vineyard. With Its picturesque river and cultural old town, this is a city worth stopping at whilst in Slovenia.
Due to Maribor's small size, I stayed for just one night at Hotel Betnava, a four star hotel and wellness centre, located only a short walk into the heart of the city. Staying true to Slovenia, it is also only a 5 minute drive away from the foot of one of the countries many mountains, Mount Pohorje. So whether it is the city or the scenic scene you are after, Hotel Betnava is the ideal location for your stay in Maribor.
Hotel Betnava has 36 rooms and two suites, all complete with free wifi which is an absolute must for me whenever I stay somewhere. And last but certainly not least, the amazing breakfast! The buffet breakfast is generous and delicious, with something to suit everyone. Plus they carve the watermelons into fancy fruit bowls! How cool!
Overall, I loved my stay at Hotel Betnava. The clean and modern rooms, perfect location and delicious breakfast offered me everything I could have needed on an overnights stay. It is the perfect place to base yourself whilst exploring the charming little city of Maribor.
