As we had a flight out of Bratislava Airport early in the morning, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to spend the night in Slovakia's capital and relax before the day of travelling ahead. Due to an early start the next day, I was looking for a hotel which could offer comfort, relaxation and a little bit of luxury too. I am delighted to say I found exactly what I was looking for at the Danubia Gate Hotel. Located in a quiet area, a short 5 minute walk from the heart of the city, it enables you to both enjoy the sites and sounds of Bratislava whilst ensuring you get a good night's sleep.
Checking into the Danubia Gate Hotel you are greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne and the check in process is quick and easy! The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgable and were only too happy to provide me with information on all the local attractions and restaurants.
I stayed in their modern and stylish Deluxe room which made actually leaving the hotel to explore the city a bit of a struggle! The Deluxe room came complete with a hydro massage bathtub for two, dressing gown and slippers, fresh fruit and even a TV in the bathroom. But, regardless of what room you stay in they all come with the same stylish design, comfortable beds, free WiFi and a minibar.
After a great nights sleep, it was time for breakfast which is a generous continental buffet with everything you could want, from fruits and yoghurt to bacon and eggs, it is the perfect start to the day!
Overall, the Danubia Gate Hotel is a great hotel and the perfect base for exploring Bratislava. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, from cheap hostels to 5 star resorts however the one thing that made Danubia Gate really stand out for me was the hotel staff. Everyone I spoke to from the receptionist to the maid were incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you are looking to stay in Slovakia's capital then look no further than Danubia Gate.
Half This World Away stayed at the The Danubia Gate Hotel as a guest of the hotel. All opinions and photos remain my own!
