I'm Megan, I'm 25 years old and I have been living, working and travelling around the world since 2011.
So far I have lived in 4 countries; Scotland, Spain, New Zealand and The Czech Republic.
I have visited 26 countries in counting, and do you want to know the big secret? I done most of this whilst maintaining a full time job.
I am walking, living, breathing proof that you don't need to quit your job to see the world.
Throughout the past few years, I've learned so much about myself and the type of travel I love.
I prefer the lesser known places and the unexpected little towns.
I prefer mountains and lakes over beaches and seas.
Sometimes I find the popular attractions disappointing, but I adore the feeling of finding somewhere; a place, a view point, a landmark; that feels undiscovered. That feels like mine. Even if its only for a moment or two.
Saying that, I still want to see Christ the Redeemer and eat pizza in Naples. I want to dive the Great Barrier Reef and climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
I am a walking contradiction.
Really I want to see it all.
I have an insatiable appetite to see the world.
Growing up I never really knew what i wanted to be. I knew I wanted a job which would enable me to see the world and thankfully I have been able to find that job.
I'm not an air hostess nor a digital nomad, in fact, I work 40 hours per week at the normal 9 to 5 pace.
The only thing I've ever wanted to do is see the world.
And 5 years ago, I decided to make that happen.
Lets rewind to August 2011 - I quit my job, packed a bag and booked a one way flight to Madrid, Spain.
My plan? I was going to teach English.
Did I have any teaching experience? No.
Did I speak Spanish? Not a word.
It would be fair to say I was a pretty naive 20 year old girl who had no clue about what I was doing.
Yet, for once in my life I'd never been so sure that leaping into the unknown was exactly where I needed to be.
It was the best decision I ever made.
Fast forward to the present day - I have seen and done so much in the past 4 years. I lived in Madrid for a year and fell completely and utterly in love with Spain, It's beautiful people, cities and cuisine. It is a country that will always hold a very special place in my heart. Not only for the experience it gave me, but also the taste it left in my mouth.
Madrid showed me what else was out there if i was willing to break away from the norm and take a chance.
And I've had restless feet ever since.
As of August 2015, we moved back to Europe and are now living in Brno, Czech Republic - a charming, little city in the centre of Europe. Luckily he loves to travel just as much as I do so our plan for the next year will be seeing what Europe has to offer!
Join me on the journey - it's going to be epic.
To quote a movie, Life isn't about the number of breathes you take but the moments which take your breath away.
And, well, I want this life to leave me utterly breathless.
